Strange time but perfect time
I’ve been putting off sending out a newsletter. I wasn't sure if the timing was right. Then I realized it was the PERFECT time to reach out!
It has been a surreal couple of weeks for all of us.
I was doing some art business work, in between virtual/remote learning and home schooling and keeping up with MY school teacher duties. (For those of you that don’t know, I am currently a full time art teacher as well as working artist.) I was writing about the meanings behind several pieces and the words within them. It was then I had my ah-ha moment and knew it was the perfect time to share. All the pieces had a direct correlation with the current situation the world has found itself in!
Take a look at
I kept this one black and white on purpose. Simple. Just like the words and the action they suggest. In times like this sometimes all you need to do is just breathe, slowly.
Then there’s Light vs. Dark
Sometimes we feel like there's no light at the end of the tunnel, there always is, you just might not be able to see past the bends and curves in the tunnel. In this painting it seemed to me like the light of the orange was fighting the other colors (in a good way aesthetically), but that brought me deeper. Even though it may not seem like it when you’re in the thick of it, light always prevails over darkness.
Live Without Fear These words are easier to say than to do. Although fear can be replaced with caution and that can make a world of change.
I’ve shared a few with you here, but you can find more throughout the site, perhaps some will resonate with you during these times.
Think of it as a time to escape from our quarantined, social distanced situation. If you are one of our dearly valued essential angels, think of it as part of a well-deserved break from the craziness of showing up and being amazing everyday.
Oh! I almost forgot, chances are you're home much more these days, this site has a very special feature called Live Preview. It uses augmented reality to allow you to digitally project my art onto your actual walls using your phone.
It’s like having my entire collection in your pocket - you can view each image on your wall, re-size it, move it around, and see exactly what it would look like in real life. This is by far the best way to experience the pieces.
To use it, visit any image on my website using a mobile or tablet device and hit the “Live Preview AR” button.
Have fun with it!
